I shot and edited a wedding highlight video from start to finish in September 2019.
For my Engaged Learning credit at Loyola, I had to work with an organization called Girls Rock: Chicago to produce a short documentary film about the organization. This was a collaborative effort with my peers and my instructor John Goheen. I had the opportunity to film a live musical performance at the Apple Michigan Avenue Store.
This video was created for my broadcast course. I had to find a timely, relevant topic and secure B-roll footage and two substantial interviews. I also had to write the script, record a voiceover, and edit the final version.
For my Spring 2019 Documentary course, I produced a short documentary film on the challenges and benefits of showing dogs for my final project. I followed a longtime Chicago groomer to a dog show in DeKalb, Illinois, where she was showing her dog Forest. I also conducted an interview at her home and followed her to work to capture B-roll.
This video was also created for my broadcast course. I had to find a timely, relevant topic and secure B-roll footage and two substantial interviews. I also had to write the script, record a voiceover, and edit the final version.
For my Spring 2019 Documentary course, I was asked to produce several short film exercises. The purpose of this exercise was to interview two subjects on the same topic and alternate the focal lengths during the interview. I had to listen for breaks in speech or awkward pauses to alter the camera lens. I also had to cut them together to avoid jump-cuts.
Also for my Spring 2019 Documentary course, this exercise was to practice cutting a sequence of events together in a seamless manner while making it appear as if multiple cameras were used.
"A Live Lobster" is a short film that I created, wrote, directed, and filmed. The short narrative film project was for my Spring 2018 Intro to Video course. This was one of the first film projects that I ever produced.
